What are SEPA direct debits and how do they work?
Last updated: April 28, 2026
SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) is a payment scheme implemented by the European Union that allows for direct debit orders between companies in Euro belonging to the SEPA region. Capchase supports payments in the following SEPA countries: Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Finland.
Setting a SEPA direct debit mandate requires only the account holder's name, IBAN, and SWIFT number. Capchase establishes direct debit mandates with all payers in accordance with SEPA requirements via our processing partner, GoCardless.
