How to request an increase in deal approval limits

Last updated: June 8, 2026

If your customer has been approved for a deal amount that's lower than what you need, you can request an increase in their approval limit. Here's how the process works:

Requesting a Limit Increase

To request an increase using the self-service option, click into the buyer profile page where you'll find an option to request an increase.

You can also reach out to the Capchase support team with the following information:

  • Customer/company name

  • Current approved amount

  • Requested approval amount

  • Total contract value (TCV), if different from the requested amount

The team will review the request and get back to you, often within a few hours to a day.

When Are Increases Possible?

Many approval increases can be processed automatically based on the customer's credit profile and revenue data. Common scenarios where increases are approved include:

  • Customers with strong revenue profiles

  • Well-established companies with good credit ratings

  • Cases where initial approvals were conservative

Approved amounts are based on the credit assessment, allowing buyers with stronger credit profiles to qualify for higher limits.

When Financial Documentation Is Required

For some customers, especially those with limited public financial information, you may need to provide additional documentation to support a higher approval amount. This typically includes:

The support team will need to verify that the requested approval amount is less than 5% of the customer's total annual revenue.

  • Financial statements

  • Tax returns

  • Revenue verification

When financial documentation is required, the support team will provide you with a secure data-sharing link to send directly to your customer.

Factors That May Limit Increases

Some situations where approval increases may not be possible include:

  • Pre-revenue companies without financial backing

  • Companies with poor credit profiles

  • Customers with insufficient runway (less than 12 months)

  • Cases where the requested amount exceeds the customer's total revenue

  • Hard caps on certain customer accounts that cannot be exceeded

Higher amounts may be possible for qualified customers.

Alternative Solutions

If a direct increase isn't possible, consider these alternatives:

  • Requesting a down payment from the customer to cover the difference between the approved amount and the total deal value

  • Using a different legal entity (if the customer has multiple entities)

  • Having a financial backer serve as the buyer instead

  • Structuring the deal differently to fit within approved limits

Remember to include the estimated deal size when initially creating customers in Capchase to help ensure appropriate initial approval amounts.
